Under 25 Internationals 2023
 
Congratulation to the following girls who played in the U25 International team in Wales
over weekend 16th/17th Sept.
Graci Cassley, Zoe Stratton, Brooke Stirling (Ballymoney Bowling Club)
Hannah Cochrane, Rachel Cochrane(Limavady Bowling Club).The girls won against England,
drew with Wales and were beaten by the winners Scotland.
This was a very good performance by these young girls most of them playing in their first
series of international matches.
 
PTWBA Closing Tournament and Prize Giving 13/09/23
 
The PTWBA Closing Tournament and Prize Giving was held on Wednesday 13th September at
Dunluce Bowling Club and the Bushfoot Golf club. President Dessa Baird and the ladies of
Limavady were the hosts providing tea/coffee and sandwiches and shortbread on arrival
at Dunluce.
Unfortunately due to the inclement weather outdoor bowling was not possible. 4 mats were
put down in the hall and 40 ladies took part in a very noisy at times, competition.
A lovely meal was enjoyed by all at Bushfoot.
President Dessa after making her speech, gave out the prizes to all League, Cup and
competitions winners and runners-up, and those who won the days competition.
IWBA President, Jennifer Dowds then made a presentation to Sophie McIntyre (Limavady B.C.)
who had been chosen to be the Bowler of the Year
 
World Bowls - Gold Coast, Australia 28th Aug - 10th Sept.
 
Congratulations to Sophie McIntyre and Shauna O'Neill (Limavady Bowling Club)
who along with Chloe Wilson won the bronze medal in the triples.
This is a great achievement for these young girls.

PTWBA Championships
The PTWBA Championships were played over the 1st - 3rd August at Limavady B C,
with President Dessa Baird and the ladies of Limavady being the hosts.
There were 3 days of good bowling with some close finishes to the matches.
It proved to be a very busy time for some of the ladies who were taking part in more
than one competition. Thanks are given to the Limavady ladies for all their hospitality
over this period, Jennifer Dowds, Competition Secretary for organising all the games
and times, Davy Culbertson for umpiring and the men members who helped in having the
green set up each day

Senior Inter Association - Belmont - 28th/29th July
 
Congratulations to President Dessa and the ladies from the PTWBA who won all
3 off their games at the Senior Inter Association series.
 
 
 
Internationals
 
Good bowling to the ladies who are selected to play for Ireland in the International
series next week in Ayr.
Barbara Logue (Ballymoney), Donna McCloy (Portrush), Bernie O'Neill (Portstewart)
and new caps Zoe Stratton (Ballymoney), Grace Henry (Ballymena) and
Sophie McIntyre (Limavady).
 
British Isles Championships
 
Congratulations to Sophie McIntyre (Limavady) on winning the U25 Singles and runners up
with Amy Carruth (ILB) in the U25 Pairs.
 
 
Congratulations, also, to Barbara Cameron BEM, Grace Henry and Donna McCloy
who were runners up in the Triples.
 
 
We send good wishes to Vice President Barbara Cameron BEM, Grace Henry and
Donna McCloy as they represent Ireland in the Triples at the British Isles Championships
in Ayr next week.
Also to Sophie McIntyre (Limavady) in both the U25 Singles and Pairs.
 
PTWBA Flag Unfurling 19/04/2023
 
The PTWBA flag was unfurled by the President Dessa Baird, on Wednesday the 19th April at
Limavady Bowling Club. 9 clubs in the Association were in attendance. After the unfurling
26 ladies went on the green to enjoy the dry weather, and play in a competition.
Afterwards everyone was entertained to a lovely meal in the Club House
